Understanding military life's specific joys and challenges, including frequent transitions, we wholeheartedly commit to providing a nurturing, inclusive, and supportive environment where every child can flourish. The Royal British Legion - Somerset

  • Overview: Supports serving and ex-serving armed forces members and their families.
  • Services: Provides welfare support, advice on pensions and benefits, education and employment programs, and community engagement events.

 

Children’s Education Advisory Service (CEAS)

  • Overview: Offers guidance on educational matters for service children.
  • Services: Provides advice on school placements, special educational needs, and transitioning between schools.

 

Royal Navy Family and People Support (RN FPS) - Yeovilton

  • Overview: RN FPS offers support services to Royal Navy families.
  • Services: This agency provides information on welfare, education, and employment, as well as access to resources for mental health and well-being. It also facilitates community events and support networks for families.

 

Little Troopers

  • Overview: A charity dedicated to supporting children of service personnel.
  • Services: Offers resources and activities to help military children cope with the challenges of having a parent in the armed forces, such as deployment. They provide toolkits, workshops, and a supportive online community to guide children through their unique experiences.

 

Help for Heroes

  • Overview: Help for Heroes is a UK charity dedicated to providing lifelong support to veterans and their families who have been wounded, injured, or sick due to their service in the British Armed Forces. Their core mission is to empower these individuals to achieve their full potential and live fulfilling lives.

  • Services: They offer various types of support, including physical and mental health services, welfare and financial advice, career and employment support, social and community activities, and grants to facilitate independence and well-being.

 

The Army Families Federation (AFF)

  • Overview: The Army Families Federation is the independent voice of Army families, working globally to improve their quality of life on issues affected by Army life. They offer confidential advice and act as a two-way communication channel between families and the Army.

  • Services: AFF provides advice and support on a wide range of issues, including housing, health, education, employment, and family life. It aims to resolve problems and influence policy changes to benefit Army families.

 

The RAF Families Federation

  • Overview: The RAF Families Federation is the independent voice for RAF families globally. It works to improve their quality of life on issues arising from RAF service. The Federation offers confidential advice and acts as a link between families and the RAF.

  • Services: RAF FF provides support and guidance on various topics, including accommodation, education, healthcare, employment, and personal relationships. It aims to resolve problems and advocate for policy changes to benefit RAF families.
